CALL FOR ARTISTS & CLAIMS HOW-TO
Hello everybody! Claims for this bang are coming up (later than planned, but the world went weird on us.) So this is our official CALL FOR ARTISTS!
There is no official artist signup for this bang; the claims are the signup! That means you can come take a gander at the claims, see if there's any fandoms/villains/fics that interest you, and then make your choice about whether or not to participate. That said, we are also hoping that some artists will consider making art for fandoms they may not be immediately familiar with - it's a fun way into something new.
Claim summaries are due from writers on the 1st, with a final date of the 5th, and the claiming takes place throughout that whole period. So let's get into how this is going to work.
A big bang is, at its heart, a collaboration between a writer and an artist. That means you want to make sure you pick something that's right for you! As an artist, you're looking for something you'll be able to make two art pieces for [remember, we are defining art pieces fairly broadly, including X]. So when the claims go up, you'll be seeing a post with a bunch of entries that look like this:

Most of this is pretty self-explanatory. The titles may or may not be placeholders, and are largely fic identifiers (how you'll claim them!) The fandoms will be disambiguated AO3-style; that is, Hannibal (TV) or Secret History - Donna Tartt, instead of just Hannibal or Secret History.Pairing tags are / for romantic, & for gen/platonic (even if it's murdery platonic). Warnings are for the big four on AO3 - Graphic Depictions of Violence, Underage, Rape/Noncon, and Major Character Death. (NB: For the last one, I'm only concerned if it's a death that isn't an established part of canon or, for series, early canon.) Rating is G, T, M, or E, and minors will not be allowed to submit or claim E-rated work. Additional Tags and Summary are where the fun happens - where you get an idea of what a fic's about, what it's like, its tone and personality!
Notes are a little more complex. An author will mention if prior knowledge of another canon might be helpful, or if they'd really strongly prefer a trans artist, or don't want to work with a minor. These will be moderately enforced - obviously, identity preferences are more of a call to honor system-slash-"HEY IF UR TRANS COME HANG OUT WITH ME", but minors are asked to please respect boundaries. (The opposite is also true! Minors can ask that adults not claim a fic; we're just heavily slanted one way and not the other. DW is a site of old people. Anyway.)
How Claims Work
The summaries will be posted on here with screened comments, and between noon EST on May 2nd and noon EST May 5th, artists can submit their top 5 choices. Pairings won't be made until the end of May 5th, so 'first come first serve' doesn't apply in this case - time zones won't matter! The full claim form - which will be posted again, so don't worry about saving this - is:

As a reminder, art mediums accepted for this bang are: fanmixes of 12-20 songs, fanvideos of at least 2 minutes, podfics, traditional and digital art, batches of 8 edited icons, two banners/title art pieces, and alternate options as suggested by an artist and accepted by both the mod team and the writer. Artist teams are responsible for two of the options above; so two fanart pieces, or four banners, or 14 icons, or a combination of the following.
Once pairings are made, emails will be sent out on the 6th or 7th connecting you with your new artist buddy! (Or buddies :D)
